Literature is art and like all art each artist creates their own. One type of literary art was the graph. That is why here you can read about the popular Japanese manga and the difference with the Western comics where not only the protagonists are superheroes.

What is Manga?
-Manga is a japanese comic book with a variety of genre. Some are very bloody or explicited and other are more childish. They are classified depending the theme of the manga. Manga have complex and emotional stories and this is what separates it from other comics.
The series are divided in volumes because some mangas can have hundred of pages and all this books have graphic for appreciated the world of the story and characters. The manga came very popular in America especially after the World War 2 and the most popular series are adapted in animated cartoons called “Anime” like Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach or One Piece.

Who writes this types of fiction?
-Manga writers are called Mangaka in Japon and their are profesional writers. Japon have a million dollars industry of manga where many writers created stories.

Where do they publish this fiction?
-The manga started being published in magazines where they had a few pages and the story continued in each publication. When he began to be popular again began to publish volumes in bookstores. In Puerto Rico manga is hard to get by other ways than Internet.

- Manga emerged centuries ago but it din’t have full narrative form until the end of C. XVI and starding C. XVII. But the real boom was after the end of the World War II.

How is this fiction received by the general audience, literary critics, or professional writers and publisher?
- Manga have a very high acceptance. Many japonese people from all ages read manga and is very popular worldwide.The comics are broadly separated into four categories according to the target audience: boys, girls, youths and matured. Japon creates million of dollars from manga. In United States is very popular in the young people but is more for entertainment. They don’t see Manga with art or literature value.

Why did you choose this type of fiction?
- I read manga when I was young and have many friend who read it. Manga have very interesting stories and is very original. Teach us about the japonese cultures, believes and myths and manga is an unique type of art.

Summary;
Light Yagami, a high school student, who find a supernatural notebook with the title of “Death Note” in the cover and some rules inside. This notebook grant its user the ability to kill anyone whose name and face they know. Light try to created a criminal-free utopia using the notebook but one of the best detective of the world, “L”, try to stop him.

Why do you like this type of genre?
-Death Note is a criminal, drama and thriller manga where the protagonist fight in an intellectual way trying discover each other. Is very interesting the way used by Tsugumi Ohba for created conflicts in the story and how he created tension in the characters and is send to the audience.

Round Characters

-Light Yagami (a.k.a. Kira) is the protagonist of Death Note. When the manga starts, he is a bored, but brilliant 17-year old high school student who finds a notebook that has the power to kill a person just by having the owner write down that person’s name. Using the power of the Death Note, he assumes the identity of "Kira" and begins to kill the world's criminals in order to build a new world utopia without crime. He is extremely popular with girls, even though he has a tendency of not treating them well. Light is considered a star student and scored a 100 percent on his college entrance exam. Because of his intelligence and logical thinking, he outsmarts the Japanese police and avoids capture


-Near is the first in line to be L's successor at Wammy's House and the leader of the investigation against Kira after L’s death. Near makes his first appearance following L's death, and several years later, he takes over the Kira investigation by convincing the President of the United States to form the Secret Provision for Kira (SPK) with selected CIA and FBI agents to help him.


-Melo is the second in line to be L's successor at Wammy's House. Jealous of Near, Mello leaves the orphanage determined to catch Kira before Near does. He soon joins the Mafia in Los Angeles and uses them to obtain the Death Note from Light by kidnapping the Director of the Japanese Police and Light’s sister Sayu.


Dynamic Character

-L. Lawliet often referred to by the alias "L", is considered the world's greatest detective at only 24 years old. He is also the most secretive since he refuses to show his face, preferring to talk to investigators through a computer screen showing only the letter "L". He takes on the "Kira"; investigation after it has stumped police around the world. However, he decides to show himself to the small band of Japanese investigators that decide to help him.


Static Character

-Ryuk is a shinigami (death god) who dropped the Death Note that Light found on the street. Shinigamis are supposed to write the names of humans in the notebook in order to extend their own lifespan. However, the shinigamis have become lethargic after spending centuries napping and gambling. According to Ryuk, the shinigami's realm is extremely boring, and he dropped the notebook into the human realm, which he considers to be amusing.

Flat Characters

-Misa Amane is a famous model, actress, and singer in Japan who poses as the "second Kira" in an effort to meet the real Kira. After Kira punished the criminal that killed her parents, Misa decided to devote her life to Kira and his goals. A shinigami named Rem hands her a Death Note belonging to a shinigami named Gelus who saved her life by writing the name on the Death Note of the man who was suppose to kill her. She used the power of the Death Note and the identity of the second Kira to get close to the real Kira, or Light. Upon meeting Light, she professes her love and devotion to him, and she promises to help him in exchange for his love.


-Teru Mikami is a fanatical follower of Kira’s Kingdom who is chosen by Light to be the owner of Misa’s Death Note after it becomes too dangerous for Misa to have it. He is first introduced in Volume ten, chapter 81 as an obsessive adherent of Kira, believing him to be a god sent to dispense justice on earth.

Mikami was a sensitive young boy with deep sense of justice who was incessantly beaten by bullies. He grows up believing that those who are evil should be "deleted" from this world.


Plot; Death Note have the common narrative structure but when the climax end start a new rising action and climax for finally have the resolution without a falling action.
